I am uniquely qualified to take on freelancing jobs that require expertise in business operations, IT management, financial technology, and consumer electronics. I began covering IT developments in 1987 when I worked as a features writer for Digital Review, a weekly trade publication covering the Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) hardware and software markets. I have been covering the IT and Internet revolutions ever since. This includes in-depth coverage of the cutting-edge technologies that support equities trading on Wall Street and, more generally, securities operations at global financial services firms.
Some of my career highlights are:
39 years as full-time journalist;
35 years of covering IT hardware and software developments and management issues;
And 25 years covering the technology that supports capital markets across the world.
I have been a full-time journalist since 1983 when I began freelancing for professional publications and later served as the managing editor of a monthly trade magazine for the log home industry. For the trade journal, I wrote about the construction of log homes, dome homes, and under-the-earth homes.

I have been a full-time journalist since 1983 when I began freelancing for professional publications and later served as the managing editor of a monthly trade magazine for the log home industry. For the trade journal, I wrote about the construction of log homes, dome homes, and under-the-earth homes.
Since then, I have tackled a variety of subjects, including stories on the architecture of computer hardware and software systems, how securities trading rooms work, and the inner workings of derivative financial instruments.
In fact, in 2000, I received the Gold Award from the American Society of Business Publication Editors for an information technology (IT) management feature about a major project at the U.S. Mint.
Over the past 39 years, I have worked in a variety of editing and writing roles:
General assignment reporter for a daily newspaper;
Trade magazine managing editor;
Weekly newsletter editor;
Business writer for a monthly magazine;
Technology editor and reporter;
Web editor for daily news updates;
Weekly blogger;
And content developer for online and in-person videos, podcasts, online Zoom panel discussions and webinars on major business operations and IT management issues.
